PE
We run, we dance, we climb, we leap, we swim, we play games,
we win, we lose, we encourage and support each other, we keep active, and we stay healthy
Purpose
A high-quality physical education curriculum inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. It should provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect.
PE at Littlecoates
The pupils participate in team games and understand the importance of competing fairly. They respect opponents and acquire the ability to accept victory and defeat with equal grace. They understand the principles of attacking and defending and apply this in a range of team games. They can perform dances and routines and suggest ways to improve. They can evaluate others’ performances sensitively and constructively. They become flexible, fit, strong and agile, and can apply a range of skills to a variety of games and activities. They understand the link between physical and mental health and aspire to live an active, healthy life. They recognise the importance of inclusivity and equality in all sports and physical pursuits.

Competitions and Events
Every year we take part in a large number of inter-school competitions and events organised by Schools Sports Partnership. We aim for every child to represent the school at least once.
